Diaconate's Mission

Redeemer Hoboken is blessed to have a congregation who prioritize caring for each other and others in the community. We see so often how the home fellowship groups support their members in prayer, good council and meeting physical, emotional and financial needs that arise within the groups. The Unfolding story of Redeemer Hoboken

I tend to think of our church as a story unfolding in a series of chapters.

 

Chapter One was all about planting and bringing our new church into existence. The focus was on finding a worship style and space, gathering a congregation to build on the success of the existing small groups' worship and ministry and building the basics of a church. I came on board as pastor towards the end of this chapter in July of 2003.

 

Chapter Two (2004/5) was focused on about leadership development and giving structure to our growing community. My focus as Pastor was on recruiting, training and electing Elders, Deacons and Trustees, growing our Small Group ministry and developing and funding our own budget and ministry priorities. The quality of our leaders and the support and service they give to our church has been a constant source of delight and encouragement to me.
